(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
