And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 Said he, 'Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!' 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
