And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
