And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
