(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
