(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed: 34 who desires to expel you from your land by his sorcery; what do you command?' 35 They said: put off him and his brother, and send unto the cities callers. 36 who shall assemble before thee all sorcerers of great knowledge" 37 So the magicians were gathered together at the appointed time on the fixed day, 38 And it was said to the people, “Have you (also) gathered?” 39 Haply we may follow the magicians, if they are the vanquishers. 40 And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?" 41 He replied, "You will then be my closest associates". 42 Moosa said to them, “Cast whatever you intend to cast.” 43 So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: By Firon's power, we shall most surely be victorious. 44 Then Moses threw down his staff, and lo, it swallowed up their conjurations. 45 And the wizards were flung prostrate, 46 And said: "We (affirm and) believe in the Lord of all the worlds, 47 The Lord of Moses and Aaron. 48 Said Pharaoh, 'You have believed him before I gave you leave. Why, he is the chief of you, the same that taught you sorcery; now you shall know! I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.' 49 They said: "No harm! Surely, to our Lord (Allah) we are to return; 50 “We hope that our Lord will forgive us our mistakes, as we are the first to believe.” 51
