The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "He is certainly a skillful magician. 34 “He wishes to expel you out of your land by his magic; so what is your advice?” 35 They said: put off him and his brother, and send unto the cities callers. 36 Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard. 37 So the sorcerers were assembled at a fixed time on a day appointed. 38 And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate 39 The people said, “Perhaps we may follow the magicians if they are victorious.” 40 And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?" 41 'Yes, indeed' he answered, 'and you shall become among those who are near stationed' 42 Moosa said to them, “Cast whatever you intend to cast.” 43 So they cast their ropes and their staffs, and said, 'By the might of Pharaoh we shall be the victors.' 44 Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake! 45 The magicians fell down prostrate, 46 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 47 and the Lord of Moses and Aaron." 48 Fir'awn said: ye believed in him ere I gave you leave. Verily he is your chief who hath taught you magic, so ye shall surely come to know. Surely I shall cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides and surely I shall crucify you all. 49 They answered: "No harm [canst thou do to us]: verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn! 50 Behold, we [but] ardently desire that our Sustainer forgive us our faults in return for our having been foremost among the believers!" 51
