۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 The Pharaoh sent word to all the cities saying, 53 (Proclaiming): "Surely they are a small band (of fugitives). 54 who have enraged us greatly. 55 and we are a host on our guard.' 56 So We expelled them from gardens and fountains, 57 And treasures and a fair estate. 58 Even so. And We caused the Children of Isra'il to inherit them. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 [Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me." 62 We sent a revelation to Moses saying, "Strike the sea with your staff." The sea was rent asunder and each side stood high up like a huge mountain. 63 Then We brought the two parties closer. 64 And We saved Moses and those with him, every one; 65 then We drowned the others. 66 Verily! In this is indeed a sign (or a proof), yet most of them are not believers. 67 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 68
