3/4 Hizb 37
< random >
۞ And We inspired Musa (Moses), saying: "Take away My slaves by night, verily, you will be pursued." 52 Then Pharaoh sent among the cities musterers: 53 (Who said): Lo! these indeed are but a little troop, 54 “And indeed they have angered all of us.” 55 But we are a numerous host, ever on guard." 56 So We expelled them from gardens and fountains, 57 And treasures and a station noble. 58 Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh's people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. 59 The people of the Pharaoh pursued them at sunrise. 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 Moses said, "Certainly not. My Lord is with me and He will certainly guide me." 62 Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain. 63 In the meantime We made the others approach that place. 64 and We delivered Moses and his companions, all of them, 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 67 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
