۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 (Saying): "Verily! These indeed are but a small band. 54 And lo! they are offenders against us. 55 “And indeed we are an alert army.” 56 and so we have [rightly] driven them out of [their] gardens and springs, 57 their treasures and a noble station. 58 Thus it was: but [in the course of time] We were to bestow all these [things] as a heritage on the children of Israel. 59 At sunrise, they followed them. 60 And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Musa (Moses) said: "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 Musa said: by no means; verily with me is my Lord; He shall guide me. 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 And We saved Moses and those with him, every one; 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 67 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 68
