3/4 Hizb 37

۞ And We revealed unto Musa saying: go by night with My bondmen verily ye shall be pursued. 52 Then Pharaoh sent among the cities musterers: 53 "There is a small group of people 54 who have enraged us greatly. 55 "But we are a multitude amply fore-warned." 56 We therefore got them out from the gardens and water springs. 57 And treasures and a station noble. 58 even so, and We bequeathed them upon the Children of Israel. 59 Pharaoh and his people pursued them at sunrise, 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me. 62 Then We bade Moses strike the sea with his staff. And it parted, and each part was like a huge mountain. 63 And We brought near thither the others. 64 and We delivered Moses and those with him all together; 65 and then We caused the others to drown. 66 Indeed in this is surely a sign, and most of them were not Muslims. 67 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 68

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
