۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 And Pharaoh sent forth heralds to all the cities. 53 [bidding them to call out his troops and to proclaim:] "Behold, these [children of Israel] are but a contemptible band; 54 "And they are raging furiously against us; 55 And indeed, we are a cautious society... " 56 So We made them leave their gardens and springs, 57 treasures, and graceful dwellings. 58 Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh's people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. 59 So the Firaun’s people followed them at sunrise. 60 And when the two hosts came in view of each other, Moses' companions said: 'We have been reached' 61 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me." 62 Then We revealed to Musa: Strike the sea with your staff. So it had cloven asunder, and each part was like a huge mound. 63 We also brought the other party close to the same spot, 64 And We saved Musa (Moses) and all those with him. 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 67 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 68
