And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 For, [on that Day,] paradise will be brought within sight of the God-conscious, 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
