And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
