Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
