And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 nor a loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
