And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 no loyal friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
