And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
