And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
