And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 You and your fathers? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
