And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
