Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
