Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
