Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
