And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
