And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 nor a loving friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
