And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 no caring friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
