And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
