And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
