And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
