And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
