And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
