Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
