And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
