Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
