Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
