The people of Noah gave the lie to the Messengers. 105 when their brother Noah said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 106 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 107 fear God, and obey me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 Have fear of God and obey me." 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?" 111 He said: "It is not for me to know what they were doing. 112 Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew; 113 "I am not one to drive away those who believe. 114 I am naught but a warner manifest. 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me. 117 So adjudge between me and them conclusively, and save me and the believers who are with me." 118 So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures). 119 Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones. 120 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 121 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 122
