The people of Noah rejected the messengers. 105 when Noah, their brother, said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 106 I am for you an honest Messenger, 107 Have fear of God and obey me. 108 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 Noah said: "What knowledge do I have about their deeds? 112 It is only for my Lord to take account of them. Would that you made use of your understanding! 113 And I am not to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a clear warner." 115 Said they: "Indeed, if thou desist not, O Noah, thou wilt surely be stoned to death!" 116 He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me. 117 hence, lay Thou wide open the truth between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me!" 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 afterwards, We drowned the rest. 120 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 121 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 122
