The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when their brother Noah said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 106 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 107 Have fear of God and obey me. 108 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 109 "So keep your duty to Allah, fear Him and obey me." 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we accept you even though it is the meanest of people who follow you?" 111 He said: And what knowledge have I of what they do? 112 Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware. 113 And I am not to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a Prophet. 115 They said: "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will be stoned to death." 116 He said, 'My Lord, my people have cried me lies, 117 So adjudge between me and them conclusively, and save me and the believers who are with me." 118 Thereafter We rescued him and those who were with him in the laden Ark 119 and drowned the rest. 120 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 121 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 122
