The people of Noah rejected the messengers. 105 When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not take heed? 106 I am for you an honest Messenger, 107 So be fearful of God and listen to me. 108 I ask no payment from you for my preaching. The Lord of the Universe will give me my reward. 109 So fear Allah and obey me." 110 ۞ They said: Shall we believe in you while the meanest follow you? 111 He said: And what knowledge have I of what they do? 112 "Their account is only with my Lord, if you could (but) know. 113 I am certainly not one to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a plain warner." 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 [Whereupon] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Behold, my people have given me the lie: 117 hence, lay Thou wide open the truth between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me!" 118 We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship, 119 and drowned the rest. 120 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 121 surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 122
