The people of Noah denied the messengers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 107 Have fear of God and obey me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 So fear Allah and obey me' 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do? 112 My Lord alone can bring them to account, if only you could understand, 113 I do not drive away the believers. 114 I am none but a plain warner." 115 They said: "If you cease not, O Nuh (Noah)! You will surely be among those stoned (to death)." 116 He prayed: "O Lord, verily my people accuse me of lies. 117 hence, lay Thou wide open the truth between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me!" 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 Then We drowned the rest afterwards 120 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 121 And lo, thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 122
