Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear you God, and obey you me; 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 Hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140
