Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 "So fear Allah and obey me. 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
