Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" 138 So they cried him lies; then We destroyed them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
