The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants; 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 And gardens and watersprings. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
