The Ad gave the lie to the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 and erect huge palaces as though you will live for ever, 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 Hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 gardens and fountains. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 Eventually they gave the lie to him and We destroyed them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
