Alshu'araa' 7 of 11
The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
