Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 I am for you an honest Messenger. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 Erect palaces (thinking) that you will live for ever, 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 [But] they answered. "It is all one to us whether thou preachest [something new] or art not of those who [like to] preach. 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
