The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 He has given you cattle, children, 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
