The tribe of Ad rejected the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
